Spoiler: click to toggle Maybe Peter has to focus to not take other peoples abilities when he touches them, and with Emma he didn't know she had one so he didn't try.

Spoiler: click to toggle I miss him being able to absorb every single power. That way he was really a match for Sylar.

Some interesting predictions, Cory! I have a prediction also: Spoiler: click to toggle Sylar is back but his behavior is reminding me a lot of Nathan. What if Parkman's attempt to make Sylar believe he is Nathan interjected a more moral compass into Sylar while the evilest part of Sylar manifested itself in Parkman? I'm not going to miss Nathan either, he was sort of boring and he didn't always do the right thing either. Mostly he allowed himself to be manipulated by his mother.
The whole Gretchen/Claire story makes me feel a little uncomfortable. I guess Claire is incapable of having a normal friendship?
I still don't understand how Peter's power works because in the last episode he was incredibly fast, but there was a scene of him hugging Claire. Then in the most recent episode, he's still speedy and saves the deaf girl but when he touches her he loses the speed power and gains her power of seeing sounds. He's also shaken hands with the carnival guy but didn't gain his powers. Very confusing.
Spoiler: click to toggle Also, the whole conversation between Peter and Emma...what the hell?! Emma is deaf, how could she understand everything that Peter was saying so clearly? I get it, she might be able to read lips, but she wasn't looking at his lips. So...yeah. I also missed what that power does, all I see is pretty lights. What does it do?
Syla being back is amazing, I don't care if Nathan comes back or not. I really like seeing Sylar as a good guy, and I'm still confused as to whether the carnie guy is good or evil. What did they see that made them go all "=D"?
Spoiler: click to toggle She didn't understand everything Peter said, that's why he had to write some of it down. At the end, she was playing the cello and she kind of flicked the bow at the end of her song and it made a crack in the wall. I don't think the carnie people are good. The girl in Claire's potential sorority is a killer and so was the fast guy with the knives.
Spoiler: click to toggle I think the Carnie folk are working for what they deem to be the 'Greater Good'. It's been the case before on TV shows that people do bad things because it can result in a positive outcome.
Looking forward to Peter and Co finding out that Nathan is actually dead too. Seems that the deaf girl can use her power on the offensive too, which is pretty cool.

Spoiler: click to toggle Meh, I think it was more that she thought she was reading his lips incorrectly because he was saying there were people that could fly and whatnot. It's easier to say that she got the gist of what he was saying even though she wasn't looking at what he was saying the entire time.
edit: spoiler whoops

Last night's episode seemed to involve set up for future episodes only:
Spoiler: click to toggle So now Peter has the ability to heal! I just hope he can find Hiro in time to save him. Once again Hiro demonstrated his unique ability to love the power and teach the deaf girl how to embrace her power also. I liked that line: It's a part of you. The writers definitely seem to be taking Sylar in a new direction. I'm hoping a combo Nathan/Sylar where he's powerful but not always evil. There was no mention or further development of the kiss between Claire and Gretchen. I hope they are going to address it in a future episode. Though it seems to me Gretchen will not be Claire's roommate for long since the invisible girl's goal is to seclude Claire so she'll want to join the circus family. Can't see Claire ever doing that though.

As for this week's episode:
Spoiler: click to toggle I'm glad that Hiro got through to Emma. At the beginning of the episode (and in other ones) she just walked away from people and it was really starting to get on my nerves. I still don't really know how she's going to make it relevant, but it still looks cool.
Peter having the ability to heal is great, but there's not an easy way to conceal that like the others. Before he could swoop in and save people by bringing them to the hospital, but if he straight up heals people it'll be a little harder to cover up. And of course, since he can save Hiro, Hiro is gone.
I do like that Sylar isn't full on evil, but I have a feeling these Carnie people are going to get to him.
@Leda: As for Claire's story, they obviously have to address that kiss at some point. I could easily see Claire joining that Carnie group. She talks about being normal, but I don't think she'll be able to resist if there's a whole colony of people that have abilities and want to 'accept' her.
I'm a little sad that there's still no advance on the Matt Parkman story though.

Spoiler: click to toggle I'm really excited for Hero and Charlie to meet up again, I always like them together. But what I'm afraid of is that the actress who played Charlie, Jayma Mays who also plays the guidance counselor in Glee, isn't going to be cast as Charlie in the next episode. I absolutely despise it when they trade up actors for characters, it's just annoying. And according to IMDB I don't see her in the newest Heroes episode, all of hers are from 2006. Which makes me doubtful. =[
I really want Sylar to be a good guy, he'd be amazing when it comes to saving lives and such. And I think that Peter's ability to heal could come in really handy, I just hope he knows how to use it correctly so he doesn't accidentally kill anyone.
As for the Claire storyline, that kiss was nothing. I think it was just a ploy to get more male viewers interested in watching her episodes, and I think it worked. According to IMDB the actress who plays Gretchen was only in 5 episodes, the last one being the newest one for this week. So she's probably going to end up dying, judging from the sneak preview.

Spoiler: click to toggle Tariq, the same actress is playing Charlie - so you no longer have to be doubtful.
Has Peter completely forgot about the Irish girl he met in Season 2 that he left in an alternate future? Or are the writers pretending Season 2 never happened?

Spoiler: click to toggle She's the girl Hiro fell in love with back in the first Season, and was one of Sylar's first victims. She had the power of enhanced memory. More info about her here; http://heroeswiki.com/Charlie

Oh! I had totally forgotten about the girl Peter had met in a previous season. He never refers to her so I guess out of sight, out of mind for Peter?

The episode wasn't spectacular, but a good lead up for future ones.
Spoiler: click to toggle Claire's story still doesn't really interest me, but at least this week's episode had some good suspense and such. Those carnie people are obviously just recruiting people for their "family" and I don't think it's going to end well. There was part of me that knew that Parkman drinking wasn't going to be a good idea. We're almost halfway through the season and I really hope some of these characters start coming together (it's my favorite part).

I agree with what you said about Parkman, Cory.
Spoiler: click to toggle It really saddened me to see the healer, Jesse, die. He's just a confused kid and didn't deserve that treatment. Much as I am suspicious of the carnies, someone like Jesse might have thrived in a "family" environment like that. But then on the other hand, we've seen several examples where the carnies have used their powers for ulterior motives and haven't hesitated to kill. Looks like Tracy will have contact with them in the future.
I think the writers need to give up on story lines where Claire lives a normal life. She's not normal, and she's not discreet about her powers, so I'd like to see them give her something cool to do instead of trying to get the male audience's attention with this possible interest in Gretchen.

This week's episode was really kind of fun!
Spoiler: click to toggle I'm usually not a fan of these Back-in-Time episodes, but this one didn't suck! It was cool to see stuff from season one, and even cooler that it shows that there was stuff going on that we didn't even see. I'm a little tempted to go back to those season one episodes and see if Noah is chilling in the background... Hiro's story is perfect. He's using his power to save people, just like he wanted. And while I'm glad we finally know what that carnie guy (I know his name is Samuel, but I don't care) wants, but it sucks that he took away Hiro's 'Happily Ever After'. The more we learn about Noah, the more I seem to like him. It would be really interesting to see what would have happened if he and Lauren (his partner who we never saw) would have gotten together. We know his marriage to Sandra didn't last and it could have had a profound effect on Claire. Part of me is thinking that they were going back to season one because it was (by far) the best season, but I've also always liked when they've thrown it back (like last season when they explained why Angela Petrelli was arrested for stealing socks in season one). And of course, Mohinder! I wonder what the Carnie Guy wanted with him and what happened. I guess I didn't really miss him not being in the show, but if he comes back, I'm all for it. Part of me likes that they're splitting up the stories so there isn't a bunch of little stuff happening in every episode, but, like I've said before, I can't wait for the stories to start meeting up.
