I am tired of all this acceptance blah blah stuff.
we're learning to kill a mocking bird in english and it is SO boring. why do we always have to read gay books on racism and junk? it's BORING!
The only way to prevent a repition of the past is to learn about it. If we didn't and we forgot we would just make the mistakes over again. In germany now, after the world war almost all evidence of the World War was destroyed and its really starting to worry people. ONE, one small section of the berlin wall stands and its a great symbol for man to look down upon and aspire to never reach that low again. Hate crimes are still happening today, In alabama (I think?) 6 black people are being put on trial and risk being put away for life sentences (one already has), for a school yard fight. A fight which happen because the boys refused to move from the "white only tree" and nooses were hung the next day. A fight, I myself was in 3 when I was a kid, one was much much worse than this one But these kids are being put into jail because there skin is a few pixels to dark. It's revolting. We need to learn to accept people for who they are. So that these attrocities can never occur again (unfortunately they will happen again, even if these books change one persons view on life. They have done a great deed.) Link here: http://blogs.abcnews.com/theblotter/2007/0...-youth-fac.html
okay, but i cant even distinguish gays, is there really a need to have all this gay acceptance blasiuf!!!?? it's not like they flash green when they eat dinner for lunch or something! :hehe: <_< :X :X :S yes, no need to humiliate dumbledore, JK Rowling. :o
Care to explain why Dumbledore being gay would be humiliating?
JK rowling revealed it to everyone and stuff. why didnt she embarrass other people as well? :o
Being gay itself, is not embarassing. Its a choice in life.
maybe dumbledore is embarrassed about it.
Professor Dumbledore is a fictional character, and if the series was to continue, I doubt he would show any sign of embarassment whatsoever due to his sexual orientation. Homosexuality is a way of life, nothing to be embarassed about, in my opinion.

"Oh no. I'm so embarassed that people reading about me know I'm gay. I don't think I could ever show my face in public, again."
Dumbledore is fictional, and if there was any embarassment that came from homosexuality, he wouldn't experience it in the books because none of the other fictional characters have revealed that they know about his sexual orientation.
@beijf: Dumbledore's not having sex. He's only attracted to men. Even elderly people still experience physical attraction.

JK Rowling has always had Dumbledore gay. It's just a side fact, a footnote. It's like Harry having green eyes. Why should he have green eyes, it's not important to the story at all! Him and Lily could have had piercing blue eyes, so why green? What's so special?
Nothing. They just have green eyes. Dumbledore is just gay. It's always been that way and never mattered.
Dumbledore is not real, he's fictional, and dead might I add. He can't feel humiliation, and if he revealed to the entire world he was gay, I'm positive he wouldn't care what other people thought.

Ah, that's true.XD I didn't even know that Dumbledore was gay. I don't think he would of cared, either way... and sooner or later, people will drop it, just like today's celebrity's, they eventually drop it off... The news I mean.

I totally agree. I don't really know why people would make a big deal about it; it is a book.

I highly doubt there is a such thing as the Wizarding World. But yes, what Colin said was true. The whole situation is being made a big deal, when really and truly, it isn't. So he's gay, who's it going to hurt? x_x

I think there is so don't crush it because we are muggles. ><;;
Its not going to hurt anyone... just people's expectations of Dumbledore...XD in the book anyway. I don't care that Dumbledore is gay, he's just to me a really awesome character. =]

If there are guns against wands, wands would win.XD
Like I said, surprised me that Dumbledore is gay, but I don't care. He's still one of my favorite characters...
