Okay, i'm not sure if it has been posted before, and it is fairly old, but read the article and watch the video.

This is old news, I'm surprised you haven't heard of this before with all the 'don't tase me bro' references around.

The police seriously overreacted. It is sickening, as you say.

On one hand, he was asking some pretty stupid questions. On the other hand, isn't it a basic human right to be able to ask stupid questions?

That one guy
I'd suggest researching other articles about the situation. This is a pretty limited story about the event. I've read others where he told his friends that he was going to do this and heat the situation so that something like this would happen.

It wouldn't surprise me if this was the truth. That's the way demonstrations and activism work - you /have/ to do inflammatory things to prove a point. It's happened as far back through the civil rights movement and the Buddhist protests in Southeast Asia to the very early Progressive movements.

When cops grab hold of you the worst thing you can do is scream and try to resist them =/

After watching the video, it looks like he was asking pretty odd questions, was being escorted out, resisted and then got put down. Maybe a bit harsh on the police part, but I don't see the point in glorifying this guys case.

Exactly. It will only make your situation worse and probably make you look somewhat stupid. :/

One, that kid was being a real jackass and deserved to be removed from the building. He was not just asking a question. But making a long speech essentially and using that opportunity to make his point (rhetorical questions that were irrational and stupid). He was being no different than a heckler at a comedy act or someone who wont shut up at a performance. He was fully aware he was being removed, and resisting that was a great reason to arrest him. And resisting arrest and screaming for attention for minutes is an even greater reason to taser him.

Sorry, but the police didn't over-react. The screaming college arrogant fool over-reacted.

Could've been warranted if he were not being held down by more than a few officers. Tasing was too far.

He was asking a question, no matter how stupid. Someone could have just asked him to step down, but they grabbed him, and people have a natural reaction to flip out at things like that.

But that's America. Over reacting and shutting people up for things they don't want to say.
