It started about a week ago. At first it'll flicker once every blue moon, but a couple days ago it'll just totally black out. Still turned on, but a black screen. U can hear the system noises and stuff in the background, even music if you had a music player up. If you shut the PC down improperly then turn it back on, the monitor is still gone. It'll just come back when it pleases. I bought this PC new back in 04' for just over a grand. It's been a nice PC, but now I'm having problems. So the question is...Whats wrong with my monitor? |

Faulty wire connection, maybe? It certainly sounds as if the monitor is your problem. |

I had a similar problem... When I moved the power cable around it came on and off. I got a new power cable and it fixed it.

i had almost the same prob with my pc, except the whole screen would turn yellowish. for me it was just that the cable the connects the monitor to the pc wasn't plugged in all the way. |

Pman, I had that problem with my older windows 2000 years ago. But there was nothing I could do about it, The screen eventually went permantly yellow/green. Sometimes if I hit it hard enough, it would go normal for a while. Haha Aaron, I'll see if any of my friends have any spare cables that I could use and see. |

Try your monitor on a different computer, see if it does it. If it still does it, it's time for a new monitor. |
