iPod Video Trouble

Here's my situation:

I plugged in my iPod to sync my new music, as I always do. I received a pop-up notifying me of a new software update for the iPod itself, so I clicked okay and let it download and install. Once this finished, my iPod restarted itself, and then it proceeded to sync once reconnected with iTunes. It looked like everything went fine, as usual, yet once I browsed my iPod... there were no songs. None of my playlists were there, none of my videos or photos were there either. I looked back on my iTunes, and the bar indicating the amount of space taken up was showing the normal display of audio/video files that I had.

Confused, I clicked "Restore" which reset the iPod to factory settings (which iTunes said to do if I was experiencing problems with my iPod). After doing so, everything on my iPod was reset and erased, and it started syncing again, but this time it showed an empty iPod, and that it was adding every single file back on from my iTunes. HOWEVER, after this finished, and I thought I had solved the problem, I checked on my iPod, and it was still THE SAME THING. No songs, no playlists, no videos. Nothing. And yet, my iTunes is once again telling me that everything is on my iPod.

I'm confused, and I don't know what to do or what is wrong. If anyone knows what the problem is, please help me :( Thank you.

As I said in the ipod topic, your only strong solution is to contact Apple themselves and thumb through support files and documents.

How many songs do you have? Because if ypou have a fair amount it should take a little while to syn all the songs, if it happens to quickly then that might be the problem. Try formatting your ipod by clicking the restore setting when it is synced and then try to syn it again.

I'm guessing iTunes recognized that the iPod was there. Try blowing in both ends of the USB Cord, USB Port on computer and the port on your iPod. Then try it.

I have around 1000 songs, and 50-60 video files, so it did take a considerable amount of time when I reformatted/re-synced everything.

I'll try cleaning out all the connections next time.

I had the same problem after updating the firmware to 1.2.2. The only possible solution would be upgrading your iTunes to the current version, it fixed my problem. You can get more information here.
