In my house, there are three computers: one Compaq laptop and two acer laptops. One of the acer laptops(mine) needs to be reformatted, but I already installed Microsoft Office on it, and you can only install Microsoft Office onto three different computers. If I reformat my acer, will it still let me install Microsoft Office onto it, since it has installed into it before, or will I have to buy a new Microsoft Office disk? |

You'll need a new disk. |

If my memory serves me correctly, it can be installed on 3 active computers, aka if you uninstall it on one, you can install it on another. However I'm not sure on this; Meltdown/Oblivion hopefully can confirm this. |

eh? o_O It will install, but if its 2003 or later you may have to call up Microsoft to activate the installation. You will be prompted to do this if necessary. |

just incase you could try going to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data, and copy all of the folders related to office, back it up of a flash drive or something, then re-format, it could work =/ (I know sometimes that's where the information with serial numbers is stored, but I don't know if that's all programs or not...). After you re-format, you could just like, paste the files back to the correct directory. |

I'm not them, but I can confirm this is correct. You may have to call Microsogtsoft to activate it (If prompted), but just explain that you had it on your laptop and had to reformat the computer and was just reinstalling. I've had to do that when I've reformatted my computers and all was cool with them. |

Chances are if you uninstall it on your acer that needs to be reformatted it will give you the option of reinstalling it after the reformatting. |
