Right now I'm just starting the book, yet it's really good so far. Nothing has happened yet though, none of that 'anti-Christ' thing yet.

However, I really don't get why people are so riled up about it?
It's a fiction story, not facts.

Boycotting won't solve anything really. The children will wonder why they can't watch the movie, and as they get older they'll understand.. You have to understand that a movie should be the last problem a religious person have. All throughout life children will get offended. As they grow into adults they'll still get offended... get over it.... And if children become atheist..... GET OVER IT... it wouldn't effect society's growth.. it should be up to them to decide not the adults.. thats the mistake many people miss.. let them live blissfully until the time comes for them to learn..... they are kids.....

If its okay for the movie, "The Passion of the Christ" to be viewed then why shouldn't the Golden Compass. Forcing Christian views through the media is okay but when us persons "with supposed liberal biases" make movies, shows, etc. then all of sudden its "stop imposing your views on us". Thats a rather unfair system. And I'm not implying that it isn't the other way around as well.

"The Passion of the Christ" didn't attack anyone or anything. It doesn't send out subliminal messages or try to make you hate a certain group through it's theme. Everyone can see that it's going to be a Christian movie before they see it, so it's easier for people to decide if they want to see it, or not. With "The Golden Compass", by just watching the commercials, you can't tell that it's an anti-Christian movie. I think "The Golden Compass" would've been alright if it was just a movie about atheist, instead of a movie that insults God and the church.

If someone is watching the movie only to see how religiously 'insulting' it is, they shouldn't have bought a ticket. It's a movie, people should just throw their deep insight aside and have some fun with a fictional story.

I'm sorry Christian church that you feel the need to ruin peoples' fun, make hard working people get less money, and support censorship on a children's movie, but whatever, I'm going to go enjoy the movie.
