This is my third attempt at a print. I've decided to learn how to code, and I figured I'd start with this. I might do some flash with it to spice it up.

Keep in mind that there aren't supposed to be glossy buttons and flashy orbs, just a clean design.

Comments and Criticisms please.

Way too simple. The colours aren't that great.

I'd wait until you've designed a bit longer for a portfolio too.

Ha. It's for a class. I know that I need to work longer, but I have to do it for a class grade.

And simple is my thing. I am not a huge fan of the glossy buttons and overly intricate web designs that most users simply ignore when they go to a site. It might be pretty at first but it won't impress the average user that has no idea what went into making the site.

Yeah but you've over simplified that. No Gradients. Even the way it's set out is quite bad. It'll be a tough one to code and also, you need to set it out so it's easy to navigate. Great designs need structure and sorry this doesn't have structure.

By looking at this, it seems as though you have the ability to do much more complicated things..
Although I'm a huge fan of simple, and I love this portfolio.. I would really like to see some more work from you that's not as simple =].

I actually think its rather orignal. And it can be coded. Id personaly convert it to flash, but if you was to code it in xhtml and css. Then Div tags will pwn!

People need to start thinking outside the box, and well feignt has done this. The only thing that i could say to do, is inside the text box, make the background inside the borders a slightly lighter color, just to make it stand out a tad more. Bar from that its ace!

there is simple then there is simpleee. Simplicity can be good if pulled off correctly, now I don't mean to be rude but it wasn't pulled off well her =[

Although I appreciate the comment, someone with your ability could at least tell me how to make it better.

If you don't think it went well, tell me what I can do to improve.

Thanks for the comments guys, but I like criticism much better. Even if you hate it, tell me so I know what to do better, not that you just hate it.

:)

First off it is sort of choppy in parts and that color scheme is overused. it also feels washed out and there isn't really a flow. Try using gradients or better colors, but if you want simple go to smashingmagazine.com and look around at how other people have pulled simple off.
