I think some non-metalheads should get involved with these topics...at this rate I think metal bands are going to make up a good portion of this list.

I agree. I'm pretty much as far from "metalhead" as you can get, but it appears that those of us who don't listen to metal are vastly outnumbered here at the Skin Zone. Over at the "favorite music genre" topic, there was an entire page of people posting their Last.fm tag clouds, most of them containing the word "metal." I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but it just goes to show you how many people here enjoy metal.

Thus, there's a very good chance that much of this list will be dominated by metal, unless there's a simply massive collection of lurkers that do not listen to metal. Hahah.

To those people that think this is all dominated by metal: Only 1 out of the 3 bands so far has been metal. I guess Dream Theater is technically metal, but it's a whole different genre.

Arcturus is far more progressive than Dream Theater. You can't really call Sideshow Symphonies metal and not be confused. So technically, none of them are (purely) metal. :P

@ SyringeX - You magnificent *******.

I'll nominate Dire Straits. Awesome band with complex arrangements and the best guitarist ever as far as my opinion is concerned: Mark Knopfler
