His presence should help their pass defense, which only had 11 interceptions last season. This should help, in case Sheppard does leave them (he is apparently unhappy with his contract). If neither Brown nor Sheppard leave, the Eagles could easily have the best secondary.

Hey man don't forget, the eagles came the closest to being the patriots in the regular season. But now with asante samuel, they defense will probably be in the top 5.

Also, they did sign Chris Clemons (8 sacks last year, even though he wasn't on defense most of the time. I think he only was in 37% of the defense's plays) to take over the empty space from Kearse's departure.

signing Samuel was good for their team but I mean Samuel really benefited from the Patriots system. He played lots of zone and got to take many chances on the ball knowing that he would have help over the top. However the Eagles dont play that type of defense. Jim Johnson likes to run those blitz heavy packages, and Samuel is going to find himself in a lot of one on one coverages. He will either flourish or flounder, and my guess is the latter. Hes going to take to many chances for those picks and hes going to get burned because of it.

All that money hes gettin better make him feel better bout dropping the game ending INT in the superbowl. Todd McShay has the words "sticky-hands" written in Samuel's scouting report. the stickiness may not have been there for that, and thatll always live inside of me and give me maniacle pleasure.
