I highly doubt those numbers.

Even then, that's still pocket change for Disney.

I just don't see how this is causing more of an impact than Vanessa Ann Hudgens, from High School Musical, taking nude pictures. I can't imagine what the big deal is. Having a picture of her swimming in a bikini is more revealing than this. But if parents are going to overreact to this, then so be it, it's their kids, not mine.

I like Miley Cyrus. I think she is one of only a very small handful of young female stars that kids can look up to. She is respectable, modest, decent. I don't look at her and see another Britney Spears waiting to happen. What bothers me is the media. I feel like they will blow up anything she does to try and taint her image, and it's not right. I don't think that she should have taken this shot, but I believe that she is young and that in more ways than one, she was manipulated into it. That's sad, and unfortunate. I feel like as a young person, she is still very much naive to the world. Ultimately, though, I think her parents are doing a good job with her and I think she is going to learn a lot from experiences like this. I hope she continues to be a good role model for young people.

Ms. Cyrus, the star of the wholesome Disney Channel blockbuster “Hannah Montana,” had posed topless, albeit with her chest covered, for the Vanity Fair photographer, Annie Leibovitz. “Parents should be extremely concerned,” Ms. Burress said in an interview. “Very young girls look up to Miley Cyrus as a role model.”

Teh noes? :ermm: I wasn't aware people that prude still existed...

“Bonfire anyone?” wrote Lin Burress on her marriage and parenting blog, Telling It Like It Is, referring to the mountain of Hannah Montana retail items — makeup, shoes, clothes — in the marketplace.

wtf? I get it. She's a role model to kids and this probably wasn't the smartest choice of theirs to make, but I've never understood burning someone's merchandise in protest. What the hell does that even prove. I don't really see how this is any more scandalous as a photo of her in a bikini or something (which I'm sure there is somewhere).

Ew.

Fifteen year olds should not be doing that. Disney needs to find some better idols and less crappy shows.

Although I believe it was a poor choice that Miley made, I still don't believe that parents should be overreacting. Their kids can view quite a handful of that type of content by just looking at a magazine cover, turning on the TV, and browsing the internet. And besides, Miley has her own life to live. Although she can influence a lot of young women out there, parents need to understand that she can make her own choices without having to have the approval of America.

Great gist, ;) . This is also in a little magazine that kids probably won't be looking at anyway, and if they do it's the parent's fault :/ .
