Most of you, especially those within the United States, will know that there have been four Presidential assassination's in our history of the United States. The two that are well-known are the Kennedy and Lincoln assassination's. Over time, there has been theories of conspiracy in both of these assassination's. However, that is where the similarities just begin.

In school last week and into this week, we were watching a History Channel program from about two years ago called "The Kennedy Assassination - Beyond Conspiracy". After the documentary, I guess you could call it, completed, our teacher printed something off to read to us. This was the similarities between the two assassination's. Now, being we're in High School, none of us kids were obviously around for either of these tragic happenings, and all of us were still shocked to find these interesting similarities.

This is just an interesting thing for those interested, and those who have never heard this before.

  • Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.
  • Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.

  • Lincoln was elected to President in 1860.
  • Kennedy was elected to President in 1960.

  • Lincoln's wife lost a child while living in the White House.
  • Kennedy's wife lost a child while living in the White House.

  • Lincoln was directly concerned with Civil Rights.
  • Kennedy was directly concerned with Civil Rights.

  • Lincoln had a secretary named Kennedy who told him not to go to the theater.
  • Kennedy had a secretary named Lincoln who told him not to go to Dallas.

  • Lincoln was shot in the back of the head in the presence of his wife.
  • Kennedy was shot in the back of the head in the presence of his wife.

  • Lincoln was shot in the Ford Theatre.
  • Kennedy was shot in a Lincoln, a car made by Ford.

  • Lincoln was shot on a Friday; Good Friday.
  • Kennedy was shot on a Friday; the Friday before Thanksgiving.

  • The assassin, John Wilkes Booth, was known by three names, comprised of fifteen letters.
  • The assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald, was known by three names, comprised of fifteen letters.

  • Booth shot Lincoln in a theater and fled to a warehouse.
  • Oswald shot Kennedy from a warehouse and fled to a theater.

  • Booth was killed before being brought to trial.
  • Oswald was killed before being brought to trial.

  • Lincoln's successor was Andrew Johnson, born in 1808.
  • Kennedy's successor was Lyndon Johnson, born in 1908.

  • Lincoln sat in Box 7 at Ford's Theatre.
  • Kennedy rode in car 7 in the Dallas motorcade.

There are countless, probably over 50 more, similarities.

Do you guys find this interesting? I was sort of freaked out by it, if I'm honest. :P

I think I've heard a bit about this, but not so many details. It's amazing how some things are related in such vivid ways. It's almost supernatural. :sigh:

It is, isn't it. All the coincidences, it's quite amazing, and remarkable if you think about it. :P

Great find, Cody. It's amazing how similar they are. I laughed at the part where they had secretaries with each other's names that told them not to go...just kind of comedic in my head. Just a bit.

I guess I should have added those notes. While everything on that list is proven, there are two 'questions' regarding those two similarities.

Quote:

Note: It is an urban myth that Lincoln had a secretary named Kennedy. There is no record of that.
Note: There is no record whether or not Kennedy's secretary warned him whether or not to actually go.

This was actually published in a book called "That Book". The author also brought out more books such as "This Book" and "The Other Book" all filled with useless yet interesting things.

I think that there are quite a lot of odd similarities there but I also think you can draw similarities in anything if you look hard enough
