Personally this has bothered me for a while. I've sometimes looked at the history of America and Canada. The United States could have annexed the British colonies of Canada in 1812,but they couldn't. But imagine if they did,America would have controlled Canada and the USA would be the entire continent.

With how the world is,or how might things happen in the future..will Canada someday be incorporated into America? Like the Canadian providences turning into states?

Some say that America controls Canada right now, that somehow..Canada answers to America. There was a time during when America was expanding,it looked north to the British and French colonies of Canada, and thought they should join their ranks and refuse England.

But that was not the case...or was it? I'm sure some Canadians are insulted at this notion, but this idea might be true..discuss.

I don't think we have an expansionist philosophy in the US -- or at least not to the extent that we did in the colonial and post-colonial days. Something that isn't often brought up is that for a time, we actually had conquered Mexico, but left because at the time there was a strong anti-Catholic sentiment and Mexico was entirely of that religion. In that decision, I think we see the reason why the US won't expand to include Canada or anyone else. They've achieved a balance that they are comfortable with to a point where they won't even consider making any of our territories (like Guam) states. We have 50 states and that's already a bigger conglomeration than you'll see elsewhere.

I'm not familiar with all of the Canadian states or provinces or whatever they call them there but I remember talking in my Civics class about how the state/whatever of Canada basically bordering Alaska has openly discussed like leaving Canada and becoming a state in the US. Or something.

Anyways, uhh.... this is an interesting topic...haha

Provinces. And it was the Yukon.
Quebec isn't too fond on being Canadian either.

The United States and Canada are close allies (we trust them with detecting incoming nukes and such). It's pretty far-fetched for Canada to merge with the U.S. but it's not impossible either.

So far,the poll is pretty obvious. But it's good to see that some people thought out of the box enough to vote for other choices. It's interesting to see that some think Australia and New Zealand would join America,or England coming back to take a more firm stance with Canada.

Well I think that's mostly because some people just vote for all of them when you give them that option.
