Brandon and Brian have been working relentlessly on getting this resolved and unfortunately it's a long process as Stephen mentioned.

Hang in there, all. We're eager for this to be resolved as much as you are. Thanks again for your patience thus far.

While ZB does have some issues occasionally and more features are desired at time... But after using the service since 2004 (IF days) and the board itself since 2003... It's been virtually 99% uptime when you take into consideration the life of the board I'm on...

Keep up the good work guys and gals of ZB!

It sounds like we should be able to give a potential ETA soon. Brandon will update the announcement topic as soon as he has that information.

I am thankful for all the good work and bla bla bla, but the updating of news is frustrating. Even a "we keep working" more often than every 8 hours would be appreciated.

Such a simple update doesn't need to be communicated. It goes without saying that Brandon and Brian are still working on the problem, and they will post an update when they have some form of progress to share or new information.

It doesn't need to be, but it's a way of being reassuring and encouraging to the people patiently waiting and not defecting en masse to another service.

The same way the nurse pops his head into the exam room to say the doctor is still tied up, or the way the car service updates you on the status of your repair.

It's courtesy and it makes people feel valued.

No one is asking for hourly updates. But every 5 hours or so would not be remiss.

Speaking of updates, check out the announcements thread for it.

Brandon just gave one.

(Could a staff member use the bump tool on the thread when edits are made to the last post so everyone knows something new has occurred?)

I just temporarily changed the setting on support so merged posts bump their topic. This ensures any continued updates will bump the announcement throughout the evening.

Communication throughout this hardware failure has been consistent and clear, on multiple channels. Brandon's previous update indicated we were waiting on one process to complete before we could provide estimates. As soon as that process completed, the next update was posted.

I wouldn't imagine there would be much, if any, data loss from this outage from how the update posts read.

The current estimate is a tentative Wednesday morning so hopefully we'll get access back later today.
