Spambot protection?

Can there be better spambot protection on ZetaBoards? I've seen on a few forums I frequent that spambots have slipped through quite often and even on my own forum which is still in it's infancy on ZB here.

What can be done exactly?

Can we get an option on registration where users have to answer a specific question and give specific answers or registration is denied?

In your Admin CP, you can enable Board Preferences → Security → "Enable additional protection against spambots?" if it's not already enabled.

Brandon has additional spam protections in development which will help isolate suspected spam accounts and give you more control in your Admin CP.

It's difficult because these "spammers" appear to be actual people in many cases, not just bots (which means they can get past CAPTCHA).

I know, perhaps a quick way to clean up spam would be good too. Similar to that code Viral made awhile back? Only built into ZB itself?

You could always use the Topic auto tools and make one yourself. Just make a tool that automatically sends a selected topic created to a designated trash bin. Then you can mass select any number of threads and bin them. Would that be what you're talking about for a quick way to clean up spam?

That could work. I was hoping for an even quicker way of finding all posts by a member and deleting them all via admin CP perhaps, like a spam cleanup tool similar to that in Xenforo.

Your idea is a good workaround though. I'll have to do that. :)
