[posts split from mobile codes tutorial topic. //helena] http://support.zathyus.com/topic/7013266

Our forum at http://s15.zetaboards.com/TES_DiD/index/ uses a Random Quotes code above the main part of the pages; the forum is running Helena's Morrowind theme. On anything smaller than an iPad (many phones) the random quotes are squashed badly.

If you could help me out with a fix, I'd appreciate it!

Hmmm. I don't use a phone in that way myself, and I'm pretty sure my antique flip-phone wouldn't have a size for it anyway! I'm not sure what phones the members with issues have but maybe not Android. I'll check with them.
Edited to add: They're on Android 7 - one with a Note 8, one with a Samsung A5; haven't heard back from the third member yet. For all three, the random quotes cover the inbox completely.

M is for Mod

Guest view seems to be fine. Maybe the problem is happening when logged in.

Wrap your script in
Code:

<div class='randquote'></div>

and then add this to your CSS
Code:

@media (max-width: 425px) { .randquote{padding:3px} }

Change 3px to your liking.

Took me resizing my chrome browser as small as I could get it to find the issue :P

Thanks guys! I'll give that a shot, Eclypse405, and will report back once the members with the issue get back to me about it.

Edited to add: The member with the Note 8 is still seeing the problem. This is likely due to the fact that the Note 8 (according to mydevice.io) has effective css display width of 320px. I've tried changing the width in the css line you provided but it doesn't seem to be helping with the overlap. I'm wondering about perhaps doing something so that the random quotes don't display at all at such a small size.

Oh, one question, Eclypse405: should the second set of brackets in the css actually be parentheses instead?

Oh, I didn't mean to ignore you. Yes - the issue is when logged in that you have that whole other layer of links: to Prefs and Inbox (and if an Admin or Mod, to Admin and Report CPs).
So, the actual "fix" for the very low-width phones is to add space above the random quotes function. Now everyone's happy, which is a good thing. Thanks for all the help guys! This one can be listed as solved.
